Sugar Almond CDA Christmas Cookie Recipe

Prep Time 30 min
Bake Time 8 minutes per batch
Oven Heat 350°
Amount per Batch 90 cookies

 

Dry ingredients:

1 teaspoon salt

1 cup of sugar

2 ½ cups all-purpose flour

 

Wet ingredients:

1 cup butter softened

1 3-ounce package of cream cheese softened

1 egg yolk

1 teaspoon vanilla

¼ teaspoon almond extract

 

Decorations:

1 recipe powdered sugar icing

Small decorative candles

Colored sugar

 

Instructions:

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F
  2. mix the wet ingredients together in one bowl
  3. In a separate bowl mix the dry ingredients together
  4. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and mix until dough consistency
  5. Put the dough into a cookie press
  6. Push the cookie dough out of the cookie press 2 inches apart onto an greased cookie sheet
  7. Put the cookie sheet into the oven for 8 to 10 minutes until the corners are firm but not brown
  8. Take the cookies out of the oven and put transfer the cookies onto a wire rack and let cool

 

Sugar Icing Recipe (Optional):

1 tablespoon milk

1 cup powdered sugar

1 teaspoon vanilla

Instructions:

In one bowl stir together all ingredients if needed add 1 teaspoon milk until icing is the preferred consistency then drizzle over finished cookies.
