Unemployment Insurance allows you to pay into the state unemployment insurance fund. Unemployment insurance is required for any business with employees or that receives a W-2 as an owner/member/shareholder. The owners of the company can be exempt from unemployment insurance, but the filing must still be made with the statement of exemption. The statement of exemption is an additional $50.
